    Dear Toolbox Team, dear community

    I tried to install the info package on a fresh installed server and got following messages:

    Running scriptlet: info-6.7-1.ppc                                       20/86
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /sbin/install-info because of the following errors:
        0509-150   Dependent module /opt/freeware/lib64/libintl.a(libintl.so.8) could not be loaded.
        0509-022 Cannot load module /opt/freeware/lib64/libintl.a(libintl.so.8).
        0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
Please check that /etc/info-dir does exist.
You might have to rename it from /etc/info-dir.rpmsave to /etc/info-dir.


    Did I miss something?
    I tried to install in with the latest dnf on AIX 7.3 TL1 SP2

    Do you have right gettext installed ?

    Can you verify you have latest gettext from AIX toolbox.

    Also verify if libintl has specific shared object

     

    # ar -X32_64 tv /opt/freeware/lib64/libintl.a

    rwxr-xr-x   203/1      81819 Oct 20 05:27 2022 libintl.so.8

    rwxr-xr-x   203/1     130986 Oct 20 05:45 2022 libintl.so.1

    gettext is installed and the libs are in place

    root#ar -X32_64 tv /opt/freeware/lib64/libintl.a
    rwxr-xr-x   203/1      81819 Oct 20 12:27 2022 libintl.so.8
    rwxr-xr-x   203/1     130986 Oct 20 12:45 2022 libintl.so.1

    root#rpm -q gettext
    gettext-0.21-2.ppc

    System was a new installed AIX 7.3 TL1 SP2 and all rpm's are installed with dnf.

    We have seen these messages sometimes during dnf update. This is in our bug list. 
    But I think this will not stop the info package being installed.
