  • 1.  CR2 HMC + BMC connection with default admin password not working

    Hello!

    Anyone else had similar issues.

    CR2 HMC ; level 

    HMC Build level 2304040146

    MF70729 - HMC V10R2 M1031

    MF70890 - iFix for HMC V10R2 M1031

    ","base_version=V10R2

    Trying to login to BMC GUI with default credentials (root / 0penBmc) fails always with error:

    So not able to set needed Console Inband Communication Credentials ; those fail too.
    Tried also with "old" ADMIN / ADMIN credentials, which work for CR1 ..those are not working either.
    Any ideas ?  Update to latest HMC HMC V10R2 M1040 ?

    Hello Tommi,

    normally the default is 

    in BMC (OpenBMC)    
    Username: root    
    Password: 0penBmc    

    Otherwise you would have to reset it on site 

    ->https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/how-reset-bmc-default-settings-7063-cr2-hmc

    I am fighting with the installation of a new Power 10 for lots of reasons, I think the problem may be the password you are using, we had to use a complex password (the normal one we used on previous versions did not work on the BMC connection). The error was not helpful but once we used a complex password we did manage to make the connection.
