Hey Steve, nice to "see" you. I can relate to this. I'm going to have to push out 1.1.9.4 to everyone when the Windows 11 rollout starts. I think most at my firm are on 1.1.9.2. I'm certainly on 1.1.9.4. I will also make sure that the local folder that contains 1.1.9.4 also has the latest Semeru java JRE in it. I keep that in my ACS folder and upgrade the Semeru JRE every 6 months or so.

Hi Satid,
Thanks very much for that! I think my Wintel team has been instructing users to change that "Windows Console Host" setting, and this technote confirms that there is actually a fix for this issue starting with ACS 1.1.9.2. That's great to know. I have been pushing them to upgrade ACS on users' workstations, and I was telling them that this "cmd window issue" was probably fixed in a newer version of ACS. Trying to shame them into finally pushing out a newer ACS release! :)

This was an old known issue and, IIRC, the solution is to go to Windows Setting --> System --> For Developer --> Terminal and select one of the other 2 remaining values that I cannot remember (Windows Console Host??) . The solution is hard to locate with Google search somehow.
Find the solution now: Access Client Solutions and Windows 11 Version 22H2- Windows Default Console at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/access-client-solutions-and-windows-11-version-22h2-windows-default-console

Hi David. Glad to hear that it's resolved! I have a question for you. Some of my Windows 11 users noted that a "cmd" window opens in the background when they launch ACS. If they close that cmd window, it also closes ACS. Personally I'm still using a Win10 laptop, so I haven't had any chance to experiment. I suspect the issue is resolved in newer versions of ACS and these users are still running older versions. Did you see this issue at all? Are you using ACS 1.1.9.4?

@SATID SINGKORAPOOM, turns out it was even more basic. When my system restarted, it grabbed the wrong network. Once we corrected the network issue, it worked fine. As always, thanks for the input.

Dear David
I suspect basic things may not yet be done.
1) Do you use a recent or latest release of ACS?
2) What is the JRE engine you use in your Windows client? I strongly suggest using JRE from IBM Semeru. (Current release is 21..0.2.0. I'm still using release 17.x.x.x). Once you install it, you ALSO need to create a Windows Environment Variable named JAVA_HOME that points to Windows path of Semeru. (You decide if you create it as User or System ENVVAR.) Restart Windows once you create it and check it in Windows command session with SET command and look for JAVA_HOME.
3) Did you run install ACS script yet? (Run the JS file install_acs_64_allusers.js or install_acs_64.js in Windows_Application folder.) The install script will ask you about a dozen questions whether you want to run this and that ACS component (including the one you asked about) and you respond with Y or N accordingly.

Yesterday, I was selected to try Windows 11 on my laptop. Access Client opens fine from the main Access Client Solutions panel. In the past, I saved a multiple-sessions .BCHX file to be able to open more than one session at a time. The short cut to the file will not open. When I saved a new copy of the file to the desktop, it would not open from there either. The same is true for the .HOD file for a single session. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a solution?
I can start with the main ACS and open my sessions from there, but I would rather be able to skip the extra steps.
