    Thank you to everyone for attending! Here are the answers to the questions during the webinar:

    When will the LTS version launch for this change?
    10.5.0 is LTS stream. Latest fix, 10.5.0.6 will go live with new UI.

    Is the new UI available on X2 appliances with 10.0.1.1x firmware?
    10.5 is starting point for new UI. Not in 10.0.1

    What version of DataPower has these UI features?
    The latest 10.5.1 CD stream was released June 7th.

    Will the long standing WebGUI still be available?
    The original WebGUI will continue to be supported in current released firmware versions. It will be removed with next major (LTS) firmware release.

    Re: New DataPower UI ...

    I'm interested in trying this out using Docker, and have tried to download the image for this with the following:

      $ docker pull icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.5

    and also with the tags 10.5.0, 10.5.1, 10.5.0.6 (that last one being the f/w in the related article).
    But none of those work!

    How can I obtain a Docker DataPower image with this latest UI?

    Many thanks,
    Steve
    =====

    P.S. The following has worked before with an earlier image:
        $ docker pull icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.3.0

    Hi John,

    Have just tried your suggestion:

        $ docker pull ibmcom/datapower

    and received the following response:

    Using default tag: latest
    Error response from daemon: pull access denied for ibmcom/datapower, repository does not exist or may require 'docker login': denied: requested access to the resource is denied

    (and tried further with a variety of tags with the same result).

    The repository I've tried in the past ... icr.io ... has various DataPower images, nor has denied access!

    Have you tried your suggestion and successfully downloaded the 10.5.0.6 image?

    Many thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

    This worked for me a year ago but I just tried it and it failed.  According to this link the docker images are supposed to be on the Docker Hub at ibmcom/datapower.......https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-gateway/2018.4?topic=docker-running-datapower-gateway-in-containers

    Hi John,

    Indeed, the web pages you have used in the past are out of date, see this page:

    How to get DataPower Docker images past versions v10.0.3.0/v10.0.1.4/v2018.4.1.17+

    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/how-get-datapower-docker-images-past-versions-v10030v10014v20184117

    which is dated 05 December 2022.

    On reading that, you will now understand my comment on the "icr.io" developers repository.

    My original question about obtaining a 10.5.0.6 image remains:

    How can I obtain a Docker DataPower image with this latest UI?!

    Cheers,

    Steve

    There's only one image showing up on the icr.io/cpopen/datapower/datapower-limited repository and it's 10.0.1.5.  I looked here to see if there were any more images.....Container Registry - Overview

    May be time to open a ticket.

    That's strange, I've tested just now both the tag I've used "10.0.3.0" and the one you say is visible in the registry "10.0.1.5".

    So, it would seem there are more images in the repository than is stated!?

    Here are the results from my terminal window, just now:

    $ docker pull icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.3.0
    10.0.3.0: Pulling from integration/datapower/datapower-limited
    93156a512b98: Pull complete
    ...
    ec4acc118803: Pull complete

    Status: Downloaded newer image for icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.3.0
    icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.3.0

    and:

    $ docker pull icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.1.5
    10.0.1.5: Pulling from integration/datapower/datapower-limited
    ad62d8acaeb8: Pull complete

    Status: Downloaded newer image for icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.1.5
    icr.io/integration/datapower/datapower-limited:10.0.1.5

    Bottom line, I'm still looking to obtain the image for 10.5.0.6 (or later), to explore the new DataPower UI!

    Many thanks,

    Steve

    During the webinar it was mentioned that the 10.5.0.6 firmware was not released yet, and I think that's still the case: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-packs-datapower-gateway-version-1050x

    To pull the 10.5.0.5 image use:

    docker pull icr.io/cpopen/datapower/datapower-limited:10.5.0.5

    Once 10.5.0.6 is released you should be able to pull it by changing the version in the command above.

    Hi Amit,

    Many thanks for that.

    I've just tried 10.5.0.5 and indeed it does have a preview of the new UI.

    Here is the docker command I used in Windows 10 Powershell:

    docker run -it `
      -v $PWD/config:/opt/ibm/datapower/drouter/config `
      -v $PWD/local:/opt/ibm/datapower/drouter/local `
      -e DATAPOWER_ACCEPT_LICENSE=true `
      -e DATAPOWER_INTERACTIVE=true `
      -e DATAPOWER_WORKER_THREADS=4 `
      -p 9090:9090 `
      -p 5550:5550 `
      -p 5554:5554 `
      -p 9022:9022 `
      -p 2068:2068 `
      -p 9080:9080 `
      -p 12011-12019:12011-12019 `
      -p 13011-13015:13011-13015 `
      -p 7010-7015:7010-7015 `
      -p 9500-9600:9500-9600 `
      --name datapower-10.5.0.5 `
      --hostname datapower-10.5.0.5 `
       icr.io/cpopen/datapower/datapower-limited:10.5.0.5

    Many thanks,

    If you want to have a look at 10.5.0.5 in action with some configured services and live transactions you can use the DPOD simulator (https://bitbucket.org/montier/msc-dpod-simulator).

    Although it is a simulator for demonstrating IBM DataPower Operations Dashboard (DPOD), you can launch it and just sign in to the gateway(s) and have a look. You can find there existing MPGW, WSP, XMLFW, etc. so you don't have to create them yourself.

    Once 10.5.0.6 is released, we will update the simulator to use it so you can also try the new DataPower debug probe.

    Hello Steve. Amit did give you the correct details. You can find the official documentation at this location, and pick a version.
    > https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-operator

    The specific topic in the documentation is "Pulling images..."
    > https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/datapower-operator/1.7?topic=features-entitled-registry

    You'll notice the "location" is -> icr.io/cpopen/datapower/datapower-limited

    To see which DataPower versions are available,
    skopeo list-tags docker://icr.io/cpopen/datapower/datapower-limited

    Thanks to F,

    Now used skopeo to find list of images, and saw these went up to "10.5.1.0"!

    Brilliant,

    Thanks very much!

    Does anyone know if there is a limitation with SSH on these Docker datapower-limited 10.5.x firmware images? I configured the SSH service successfully, but the connection just keeps getting closed every time I try to connect from my SSH client.  I see the following message in the Docker/appliance log:

    [0x80e005d5][ssh][error] ssh(SSH Service): SSH Server internal message: 'chown(/dev/pts/1, 0, 5) failed: Operation not permitted'

    I tried using various firmware from 10.5.0.4-6 and the latest 10.5.1.0, as well as opening different SSH ports and all produce the same issue. Here's the command I used to launch the initial container where I tried SSH on port 9029 (ran it from Windows Power Shell):

    docker run -it -v $PWD/config:/drouter/config -v $PWD/local:/drouter/local -e DATAPOWER_ACCEPT_LICENSE=true -e DATAPOWER_INTERACTIVE=true -e DATAPOWER_WORKER_THREADS=4 -p 9099:9099 -p 9029:9029 -p 5574:5574 -p 5570:5570 -p 8050-8060:8050-8060 --hostname dp1051 --name DataPower_1051 icr.io/cpopen/datapower/datapower-limited:10.5.1.0

    I'm using a DataPower 2018.4.1.15 Docker image and I never encountered this issue before.

    FYI - For anyone interested, the solution to the SSH problem I posted previously is that you need to include --user=root on the docker run command as shown above. This resolves the problem when using the container in a Docker Desktop for Windows environment.
