z/OS 2.4 CDS Setup for DR Testing

Hi, In the z/OS Setting Up A Sysplex publication, IBM recommends against the use of asynchronous mirroring to replicate the SYSPLEX and CFRM Couple Data Sets to be used for DR testing as Asynchronous copy transfers storage unit track images that do not necessarily correspond to the logical records defined within the couple data set, resulting that it may be impossible to IPL the sysplex using the copied couple data sets.

My question is whether that recommendation is for the copying of the active SYSPLEX and CFRM CDS, and if so, would it be acceptable to asynchronously copy pre-formatted CDS's for DR use only in the case where they can't be pre-allocated at the DR site?

    Thanks,

    Michael Grayson
