  • 1.  Z1091_ADCD_install fails with return code 312

    Posted 07/08/15 11:00 AM

Running Z1091_ADCD_install fails with return code 312 with the following excerpted messages:

Error:  Failed to get license.  Return code: 312.

Error:  Unable to get expected license:  B1A4

         SFNTGetLicense failed.  Return code: 312

Are the return codes 312 and B1A4 documented somewhere?  What do these mean?

    Thanks!

We are working with Wilbert to understand his configuration and the possible reasons for this code. We will reply to the forum when we have an answer.

The 312 return code indicated a timeout in attempting to get the license to perform the Z1091_ADCD_install. There are several reasons this code can be returned.

    • The update file applied to the USB hardware device was of type *.upw instead of *.zip. To perform a Z1091_ADCD_install, the update file applied to the USB hardware device must be of type *.zip, whether applied to a  locally attached USB hardware device or applied to a USB hardware device on a product license server. A common scenario where this mistake is made is when the Z1091_ADCD_install is being done on an RD&T v9.1 instance when the product license server is running RD&T v9.0
    • The USB Hardware device was not reseated (was not pulled out for 10 seconds then placed back in) after applying the update file using Z1091_token_update -u. This was the case for Wilbert. It should be noted he reseated it once after applying the update file, but had to do it again before the 312 error went away.
    • You do not have connectivity from the instance performing the Z1091_ADCD_install to the product license server. A UIMCHECK can be issued on the client instance to verify whether there is proper connectivity.
