when following input links of a requirement, what does parenthesis "(" and ")" in the link mean ?

  • 1.  when following input links of a requirement, what does parenthesis "(" and ")" in the link mean ?

    Hello,

I have a upstream module (product spec) that is a reference version (baseline) : 2.0

I have a downstream module (fpga spec) the is a current version and that has links to the reference version 2.0 of the product spec.

When I open fpga spec, all links are correct and linked to the 2.0 of the product spec :

fpga spec, requirement 121 and 123

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsIqOFWuFG55hG6ukD07CcsJ3B4l

But when I open product spec 2.0 I have a problem because I see an incoming link for requirement 120 that is coming from "spec_fpga" and requirement 123 and this link doesn't exist (see precedent printscreen) :

    product spec, requirement 120

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsIqOFWuFG55hG8etqah1xRW6t7N

this false link is between parenthesis "(" and ")". I don't know what it means and I don't find anything in documentation.

If I follow this "false" link doors open du fpga specification in current mode and display requirement 123 where we can see there is no outgoing link !

An explanation that i could see is that in a precedent revision of FPGA specification there is an outgoing link from requirement 123 to requirement 120 of product specification.

is it the reason why I see this ? is it normal ? or a bug ?

I would recommend raising a support case with the DOORS support team. There is a link repair utility support can provide which may be helpful for this scenario.

Thanks for your answer so for you it could be a bug. But the "parenthesis" displayed for the wrong link seems to be more like a "functionnality" than a bug ?

Based on the information we have thus far, I can't make any conclusions about defects or expected functionality. You mentioned one side of the link was missing which is why I suggested raising a case with DOORS support since there is a "Link Repair Utility" that might address this. The support team will also be able to collect more detailed information to make an assessment about whether there is a defect causing the issue or not.

I'm also unclear about the parenthesis you mention. If you use baseline sets, it is possible to have links going to different baselines and the baseline version will be captured in brackets when you look at the links.

thanks, here it is not bracket that indicate the version. there are paranthesis (is link to show the printscreen ok ?) it seems it is related to "empty" triangles and what was called "echoed link" in previous version of doors. but no sure.
