  • 1.  What are the precautions when upgrading Windows

    Hello, 
    Basically, would like to upgrade Windows version, not Cognos version.

    What are the precautions/recommended steps to do prior to the upgrade?
    Do we need to re-configure Cognos?

    Hi,

    Done upgrades from windows server 2012 -> 2017 and 2012 -> 2019, both without any problems.

    Stop the Cognos service before the upgrades, and make sure to install the upgrades with the same language / region settings.

    After the upgrade, start the Cognos services again, no re-configurations needed, but to make sure, it is a good idea to start the Cognos from the configuration application the first time after the upgrade.
