Welcome back to Product Potpourri!

It's been an exciting few months as the Apptio Education team has presented at multiple in-person conferences   For myself it was great to have the chance to meet many of you in Chicago at the 2022 User Conference.  With both the in-person and our online classes we've had a whole new round of questions to share!

• What does the Hydration warning mean, in the Advanced tab , in the Properties popup?  In the Apptio Help Center there is a great walkthrough for the Advanced Tabs for both Tables and Charts.  Rather than copy/paste for just the Hydration warnings I recommend looking in the Help Center to have the explanations for all the related steps.  The link can be found here, Set chart properties. 

• How can you create subheadings in a filter?  In the Apptio Help center we have a walkthrough of the configuration settings that will allow you to use subheadings.   If you go to this link, Compact Slicers, you'll see the initial configuration settings for Compact Slicers.  At the bottom of the page, you'll also see two links that will walk you through the instructions on how to create a filter hierarchy and other settings.

• Is there a way to see the hierarchy of the account from the parent report that would then show me all of the child reports attached to the parent report?  Unfortunately, the answer here appears to be no.  If you'd like to make a product enhancement request to see if this functionality could be added you can easily do so by contacting the Apptio Support team.

• Can you link to another report but not use a field value?  There are other ways to link one report to another besides using the drill function.  There is a custom button function that you can add to your reports to specifically do exactly this.  If you'd like the instructions on how to create a button they can be found in our Help Center, Creating A Custom Button.
