Something I tried:
1) Created a table with some values, including an arbitrary "Threshold" value:

As suggested, you could sort by the Distance column:

The distance could also be an absolute number. Obviously, this will depend on the actual use case.
We could do the sorting on the reporting surface too:

Here, we could store the report with sorting on, so that data appears in the desired order by default.
The threshold could come from another table, thus adding some dynamism to the rudimentary prototype I built.

The dynamic sorting question is intriguing: it might be possible to have some logic in ancillary columns that will create an index based on the criteria. I can feel rolling up his metaphorical sleeves, ready to try out this concept.
I'll report Bill's findings when avalilable ππππππ

Welcome back to the Product Potpourri!
We're actually almost at the year and a half mark for this series and I couldn't be happier. We continue to get fantastic questions in both our classes and through our Community Ask an Instructor page. Here are the latest:
- Who should I reach out to with questions about accessing classes? Apptio Education has a brand new email address of education@apptio.com. This email address can be used to reach out to the education team for questions related to our classes.
- How do I know what version of Insights and Action Plans I'm using? To know what version of Action Plans and Insights you are on first go to the ,,,Insight and Action plan tab and then navigate to "About the Application". Once you click on "About the Application" you will get to see the version in the window that pops up.
- How can you delete a report or a table you've created? The first step for deleting either of these items is to first check out the item. Then use the "Delete" button and then check the item back in to confirm the deletion.
- Can I organize my thresholds in a report table to set ascending or descending by whether or not a threshold has been met, and can I then order by how much above the threshold the item is? Currently it's possible to sort by ascending or descending, but not in as detailed a way as was asked in the question. It is recommended to discuss this with your CSM, though, since it's possible that by doing some custom work something along these lines might be possible.
Thanks again to all our students for the great questions!β
