The Decision Runtime on Z is one of my favorite products - letting you bring the power of decision management to your mainframe, helping you modernize in place and then extend your decision automation capability to distributed and even agentic systems from a shared, managed repository!

A couple of quick thoughts for folks who attend the webinar and want to put it into practice:

    • Use decision modeling to understand the decision you are trying to automate - this visual notation helps you identify which sub-decisions need to be managed with rules, which with ML or AI deployments. The power of the Z platform to deploy a powerful mix of business rules and ML/AI is a great tool in your toolbox and decision modeling will help you maximize that.
    • We have had great success using AI to extract first cut decision models from legacy code, SOPs, policies and more. This really helps modernize the applications running on your mainframe and makes it easier to take advantage of these great tools. Email me if you have questions.
    • As we help clients move to Agentic AI, we're seeing a lot of interest in decision agents that use rules and ML to make decisions consistently and transparently (rather than relying on unreliable LLMs). Modernizing your mainframe applications to leverage ODM is a great first step because it let's you share rules between your existing mainframe applications and new agentic AI solutions as you develop them - minimizing costs and maximizing enterprise consistency and reuse.

    Looking forward to the webinar!
