Join us for an insightful discussion on 10 March, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET.
IBM Db2's Database Partitioning Feature (DPF) enables horizontal scaling by distributing data across multiple physical or virtual hosts. Using a partitioned architecture with resources such as database partitions, network interfaces, Virtual IPs (VIPs), and shared storage mount points, DPF delivers massive parallel processing and high performance across database nodes.
However, traditional high availability (HA) deployments based on a single Pacemaker domain introduce several scalability limitations. These include support for a maximum of 32 physical hosts per domain and protection against up to four concurrent host failures.
With Db2 v12.1.3, IBM introduced a new multi-domain DPF architecture that removes these pain points through the support of multiple Pacemaker domains for a DPF instance-each managing up to 32 hosts. Organizations can build significantly larger DPF clusters while maintaining high-performance automated high availability.
In this webinar, we will explore how the multi-domain architecture works, unveil the inner workings of how failover coordination is handled with multiple domains, and how this design enables greater scalability while improving resilience and simplifying HA management.
Join us to learn how this new capability supports mission-critical workloads that demand both massive horizontal scale and robust automated recovery.
