In several customer deployment a specific VPP App is always configured to disallow auto updates. When the Vendor has delivered a new version to the App store, we enable auto updates to the affected iPads. Auto updates are set to install automatically at this point.
In many cases the update does not occur after doing the following:
1. Refresh the connection between the device and MaaS in the dashboard and by refreshing the MaaS app on the iPads.
2. Refresh the VPP token.
After opening a ticket with IBM Support, I have been advised to do the following:
- Clear all distribution settings for the App
- Delete the app
- Re-install the app with auto updates enabled
- Set distribution configuration.
After doing this, the only way the app is updating is to go into the actual device record, remove the app and then re-distribute it from the device record in the MaaS dashboard.
This is completely untenable and simply a bad workaround.
Can anyone shed some light this? Has anyone experienced this?
