    I can't find the Huawei OceanStor V6 storage device for Virtualize Storage interoperability.

    Also, you may raise the case with IBM support to check the Virtualize Storage interoperability for Huawei OceanStor V6.

    Hi Robert,

    admittedly IBM Documentation article Configuring and servicing storage systems does not explictily mention Huawei OceanStor back-end storage controllers.
    However, in SSIC I found the same under Storage Family: IBM Spectrum Virtualize Storage Controllers > Storage Controller: Huawei OceanStor Dorado 6000 V6 Series with these details:

    1. Host type should be set to Linux
    2. Support for MDisks >2TB
    3. MdiskGroup Balanced MPIO is set for this controller

    According to IBM SSIC is factible. I performed an exercises with 8.3.x and above.
    IBM System Storage Interoperation Center (SSIC)
    Looks like standard virtualization operation (pay attention to versions and host type)

    Hello, please note that at the moment there is still no "SCSI Unmap" support for the Huawei backend storage controllers from IBM. This means that these backend storage controllers must be monitored very well, otherwise they will sooner or later run full (out of physical space).
