    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=ssg1S4000201#Storwize3700

Load balancing works fine, "pcmpath query device" works fine, but some pcmpath query commands does not work:

    # pcmpath query portmap

    No valid device found

    # pcmpath query essmap

    No valid device found

Are some commands valid only for ESS Shark?

    pcmpath returns:

Examples of valid device model include:
             2105    - Displays all 2105 models (ESS)
             2145    - Displays all 2145 models
             1750    - Displays all 1750 devices (DS 6000)
             2107    - Displays all 2107 devices (DS 8000)
             1724    - Displays all 1724 devices (DS 4100)
             1814    - Displays all 1814 devices (DS 3950 and DS 4200 and DS 4700 and DS 5020)
             1722    - Displays all 1722 devices (DS 4300)
             1742    - Displays all 1742 devices (DS 4400 and DS 4500)
             1815    - Displays all 1815 devices (DS 4800)
             1818    - Displays all 1818 devices (DS 5000)
             1820    - Displays all 1820 devices (RSSM)

and my V3700 disk is seen as:

    # lsdev -Cc disk
    hdisk0 Available C3-T1-01 MPIO FC 2145

are these broken pcmpath command functionalities to be ignored for V3700? if so, why they exist in SDDPCM filesets which are to be downloaded from V3700 link attached above?

The link you have provided is not V3700 specific, it is simply a link to the SDDPCM driver page bit for V3700, scroll down a bit and you'll find the DS800 filesets are exactly the same...

Scroll up a bit and you'll see the other Vxxx and even the SVC filesets are the same...

Your system shows your disks as a 2145, the SDDPCM driver is recognising your V3700, which is a 2072, as an SVC which is a 2145, are you sure you have the latest driver and HAS installed?

If you look at the support matrix you can see what storage systems each release supports:
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=540&context=ST52G7&dc=DA400&uid=ssg1S7001350&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en#AIXSDDPCM

At the top of the page you linked you'll see a link to get the latest Host Attachment Script.

Again you'll find all the 1.0.0.24 links, for the various storage types, link to the same download.

    Regarding Host Attachment filesets:

I think I did install correct fielset before SDDPCM instalaltion:

    # installp -Ld .
    devices.fcp.disk.ibm.mpio:devices.fcp.disk.ibm.mpio.rte:1.0.0.24::I:T:::::b:IBM MPIO FCP Disk Device::::0::

but as i wrote with this I have MPIO FC 2145 devices from my V3700.

I did not find Host Attachment for AIX for V3700 one page:

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=540&context=ST52G7&dc=D400&q1=host+script&uid=ssg1S4000203&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

therefore what I have installed is

    Platform AIX 5.3/6.1/7.1 1.0.0.24
    US English
    Byte Size 102400
    Date 16 Mar 2012

    README for v1.0.0.24

SVC/IBM Storwize V7000 Host Attach HTTP

Are you sure IBM released "ODMs" for V3700 disks? Isn't it SVC so 2145 is correct?

Whether V7000, pure SVC or V3700, it's all SVC under the covers. So the LUN type will be the same for all of them.
