That sounds great and totally possible!, I'm David Iñiguez and IBM Champion and I have experience with IBM MAS and IBM MVI, this is real and is working today.
- First connect the drone camera via RSTP protocol
- Then train a model to detect what is being sought as an inference,
- Once the model is deployed, alerts/alarms could be configured by sending events via MQTT
- Then with a listener take it and take it as a meter to Maximo use a condition supervisor and that's it,
that's how I have done it and even more entertaining, I have added robot dogs, so have inspections on the ground and in the air :)
If you want to go further, I used another Visual AI for the drone takeoff and landing trigger, this gets more and more intense.
01_Floor level activation of take off
02_Drone view, take off trigger

Subject: Using Drones and AI for Condition Based Work Orders
I've had an idea that would combine Drones, Maximo Visual Inspection AI engine to perform health checks and create Maximo Work Orders as conditions occur. One such condition would be in having a drone fly near a bus duct in a plant once a day, take a thermal image, have it fed into Maximo and when the thermal image shows it to be out of compliance, create a work order. I'd like to try to eliminate having to have a person viewing the image, it seems that MVI could be trained to do this.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Tony
