  • 1.  Updating Multiple Schedules.

    Is it possible to update multiple schedules is Cognos 11.0.11 either in the Cognos app? or SQL? Thank you in advance for any information that you can give on this.

    I don't think there is a way to update multiple schedules at the same time due to the unique configurations each schedule may have.  For example, you may want them all to run at 8am daily but one schedule may need the output saved in HTML and the other may need to be emailed as an Excel attachment.  If you truly do have a schedules that you want to run at the same time, you could consider creating a job in Cognos that runs various things at the same time (or in sequence).  Jobs also give you the ability to define for each thing it runs whether to email, save, output format, etc.  The jobs are pretty handy to avoid having tons of scheduled activities to comb through that all run at the same time.

    Does anyone have SQL for updating the Destination path for reports? Surely someone has to have done this previously either with SQL or a 3rd party tool.

    We have updated parameters in multiple schedules with a 3rd party tool called BSP MetaManager from avnet. But be aware, this is not a simple thing to do, requires thorough testing, and depending on what you need to update exactly, it might not even be supported by the tool. But if it's important to you, this might be the place to start looking.
