  • 1.  Unexpected flow error sign without flow error

    Hi All,

We have a strange phenomenon in one of our application: Process Designer signs a flow error using the yellow exclamation point icon in a service flow imported from a toolkit, but in the toolkit there are no such signs and the services are running correctly, without errors.

In a service flow in the application we call the Get Partner service which is a service flow from a toolkit:

Double-clicking the Get Partner step, Process Designer shows the read-only service flow which is in a toolkit. As you can see, there are yellow exclamation point icons between the SendTwoWayTextMessage, Receive Text Message and Response Body XSL steps.
No hints are displayed when I move the mouse pointer to them, no errors in the validation errors view in the designer, and the application runs correctly, without any errors.

When I open the toolkit containing the Get Partner service flow and open the service within it, no such icons are displayed.

Why do Process Designer shows the icons in the application using the toolkit, but do not shows them in the toolkit?
Did anybody see such a thing yet? How to solve this?

    Thanks,

When you click on the service in your process app, it is going to bring up the version of the services that exists on the snapshot you are referencing in your PA. When you open the TK directly in designer, it is going to bring up the "Tip" version of that service. It is possible the service had problems in the snapshot you are using, but they have since been addressed. You can open up the snapshot version you have the TK open in designer to let you see if this is the issue.

The actual error I think I've seen when something to do with an underlying GUID changing.  Think, "the service we are trying to call in this step is no longer in the TK" so someone created a copy of the service, edited that for what they needed, deleted the original service when they were done, and renamed the new one to the old name, you could wind up in this state. It is hard to tell from the UI because the UI shows the Name of the service it wants to go to, but the link is based on the GUID of that service.

    Hi Andrew,

When I open the snapshot used in the application instead of the tip, I still don't see the icons on the service flow.
After creating a new snapshot and upgrading the application to it, the icons are still there.
There wasn't any renaming or delete/recreate of any things.
