    Hello,
I don't understand the using of the two services (CBRXLACS and CBRXLCS) .  There are not part of OAM address space but is neccessary for mount and dismount cartidges.
I don't find anything in the sys1.linklib because they are not LMOD

The only LMOD found is CBRLLACS which reside on E-LPA.

So  Job processing (mount/demount activity) occurs OUTSIDE the OAM address space(CBRXLACS/CBRXLCS)
    • However, recommendation is to run with the OAM address space active

CBRXLACS - Library automation Communication Services is responsible for mount, demount etc.

CBRXLCS - Library control services - is responsible for ejecting tapes and related functions.

Could you help me about the two services listed above.

    Thank a lot

Hi Eric.  Thanks for posting this question.  I have no idea what you are talking about ;->, so I am working on channeling it to the right person so you can get an answer.  Thanks for your patience.

SMStape (which includes support from OAM) is designed to be able to process mount requests prior to the OAM address space being started which is why you'll find that the load modules for the services you noted (CBRXLCS and CBRXLACS) reside outside the OAM address space.   However, that being said, we still recommend that you start and use the OAM address space since there is other tape-library related processing that runs within the OAM address space.  We document the following in the OAM Tape Library PISA (in chapter 1):

Recommendation: Only a subset of the functions above actually execute within the OAM address space (entry, eject, audit, and unsolicited attention message processing). Cartridge mount and demount activity (job processing) does not require the OAM address space. However, since job processing often results in volumes being entered and error and status messages being displayed, run the installation with the OAM address space active whenever possible.

Unless documented in the OAM tape library PISA, some of these interfaces are considered internal to IBM.    I couldn't tell from your question if we were looking to write code or simply use our SMStape support.
