IBM® Releases Statement of direction for z/OS® 3.1
If you haven’t heard, IBM is planning that IBM z/OS® 3.1 will be the last release that
DFSMSdfp Object Access Method (OAM) will support the IBM 3995 optical libraries and drives for unstructured data (objects).
The other layers of the OAM storage tier will continue to be supported. These includeIBM Db2®, z/OS zFS, NFS, tape, and cloud.
