    MAM 7.6.1.2:

    I've noticed that the word "Planned" is used in some places in Maximo, and "Estimated" is used in other places.
    Do planned and estimated mean exactly the same thing in Maximo?

    Related: Is inside/outside labor the same thing as internal/external labor?

    Essentially, the answer will be YES they are the same.

    Can you let me know where this confusion arises?

    The term "estimate" used definitely for the Compatible Unit Estimation, that is where I know it's used,

    It looks like "estimate" is used in the View Costs window in WOTRACK (and in the field names/descriptions in ad-hoc reporting). Whereas “planned” is used in the Plans tab in WOTRACK.


    Users have been asking me if planned and estimated are the same. I've been saying yes, but thought I should check.

    Well, that is certainly a good example.  Estimate is the same as planned.

    "Planned" refers to the larger collection of tasks, resources, labor, materials, etc. you plan to complete work where as "estimated" is specific to the qty of hours or cost for the plans.
