  • 1.  Storewize V3700 - lost access & factory reset

    Posted Mon October 02, 2023 03:48 PM

    Hi,

I've got my hands on Storewize V3700. I am not the original owner.

Now, the devices are working, drives are spinning etc. but I can't connect to the WebGUI or SSH. Explanation of why I can't connect to the SSH is simple: I don't know the credentials, explaining the webGUI may be a bit trickier.
When I start the device I can find it using nmap, it has IP 172.24.3.110 with some open ports, but those do not include standard HTTP and HTTPS (80 and 443), they include: 22,53,3260,3265 and what I presume can be the webGUI ports 8080 and 8443. I tried accessing all of those ports in browser but they either don't load at all or say something like "connection timed out" (port 8443).
There are no data on the devices and I would like to factory reset them, but I can't.

    Please help

Well, you can try resetting the password. Hopefully it's not configured to lock out that option:

I agree with Ian, reset the password with usb memory, then check the summary file that is saved to the USB memory and search for the service IP address and cluster IP address in order to know what are the IP addresses to use for ssh/WebGUI

    Hello,

The last owner probably deleted the configuration, thus there should not be any IP or cluster to connect to.

You'll need to get the initializing tool and start from scratch:

If you don't have the tool, you can try to connect directly via the tech port on node 1 and reinitialize the system via service GUI and assign new IPs ....

Note that the default IP are as follow

You may do this also using a USB key :

    Hope that helps...

    Good day

Have you found the correct solution yet? If so could you share the procedure for future reference?
