  • 1.  Storage Scale Developer Edition older versions such as 5.0.2.0?

    Posted Thu November 02, 2023 03:27 PM

Hi, I have a Storage Scale on my production environment It is running on version 5.0.2.0 and I want to practice the upgrade from 5.0.2.0 to the latest, which should be version 5.1.8.2. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knows if a Storage Scale Development edition version 5.0.2.0 is available so I can replicate my real-life environment and practice this upgrade?

Is there a link where I can download older versions of the Development Edition?

    Thank you

    Hola!
I am not even an user of Storage Scale but I took a look at Fixcentral and I was able to download "Spectrum_Scale_Advanced-5.0.2.0-x86_64-Linux". If it's what you need, then you should try to search it using the old name "Spectrum Scale".

    Hopefully it's what you need

Hello, You will want to do a bit more research on jumping to 5.1.8 as there are several steps. Also, remember there are two parts to the Storage Scale or ESS or SSS (nomenclature changed a few times). At the end of the day the latest build would be 5.1.8 and 6.1.8.3 for hardware firmware and Scale software. You can check by running

    "grep   rpm_qa" or

    "rpm -qa | grep gpfs.gss.tools"

At the end of the day currernt versions are 5.1.8.2 (RH 8.6 for Gen3, RH 7.9 for Gen2) and 6.1.8.3 (ESS) You can also check out this URL and it has a selection tab for multiple versions. https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/ess/6.1.4_ent?topic=ess-deployment-guide

Also you may want to reveiw = https://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg248516.pdf

Lab services would also be a option.
