Hello, I am configuring the SNMP protocol, to activate the protocol I need two commands STRTCPSVR *snmp to activate port 161 and STRTRPMGR to activate port 162, I have a question, do I have to activate both? Can I activate one or the other? Any suggestions to activate this command?

    Dear Miguel

Port 162 is the listening port for SNMP Trap Manager function.  You start port 162 only when your IBM i server also serves as SNMP Trap Manager (normally in conjunction with a system monitoring SW product and the product owner should know if it needs SNMP trap or not).  Starting at IBM i R740, it is possible to have the SNMP Trap Manager autostarted with SNMP via settings in the SNMP Attributes (CHGSNMPA).   There is a comprehensive Technote about IBM i SNMP Overview here: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-i-snmp-overview
