Hi

I am having a problem with Launching the SPSS Statistic v 28. The Installation went fine, but when I launch the program, it just jumps on the dock and the program window itself does not open for me to insert even the licence code. The computer I use is MacOs 10.13.6.

What could possibly be wrong?

It sounds like you might be having an issue with a firewall of other security software blocking the execution of one (or more) of our executable files or how they interact with one another.
Please begin with this blog and work through the various Technotes and Known Issues as my be applicable to your situation.  Specifically, this Technote should be followed in all situations.

Hi @Narmina S, sorry you are experiencing difficulties. Let's see if we can figure out what is happening.

Can you try the following please:

• Open a terminal window on your Mac
• Type or paste the following, including the surrounding quotes, then press return:

"/Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/SPSS Statistics.app/Contents/MacOS/stats"

Please copy any exceptions or other output you see in the terminal window and paste it here.

Hi, I am having the same issue. I was able to click resources and the authorizing folder to run the license wizard and input my authorization code. But when I go back to run SPSS, the app would bounce on the dock and java app would also open but then seconds later close and then the spss app will close too. This is what my terminal says:

I also installed the latest version of Java. Uninstalled prior versions of SPSS using an app cleaner. My macos is Ventura 13.6.
