  • 1.  Sorting Items in Data Model

    Hi All,

    We are using IBM Cognos 11.0.11 version and creating data models sourcing excel files. Is there any option we can sort items in the data model? I try to look at the properties but apart from label change I see nothing. I understand In framework manager we have full control but here we try to do using Analytics interface. Please advice if there any options to sort out the items.

    Makes sense but these are the basic requirements and it is very difficult to highlight these and push client partner to newer version. Let us find more of these and articulate. What would be the ideal version with maximum (I mean all) features we can avail?

    The emphasis behind the rapid release model is to incorporate new feature all the time so the best answer is to keep as current as possible.
    However there are number of things to consider.
    • Supported versions, meaning the official support model is N-1 in terms of a release that is supported. With the 11.1.4 version being release in the next few weeks you should consider either 11.1.3 or possibly 11.1.4
    • Long Term support.  Release 11.0.13 is defined as having long term support meaning it will be supported and fix packs provided for an extended period of time. The LTS release may not have all the features you are hoping for but you can at least log defects and expect support which your current version would not provide.
