I am dusting of my dashboard skills, it's been a while since I have used them. I have probably encountered this before - but my memory fails me. I am struggling to sort a visualisation. A simple task.

I want to sort a bar chart by the measure descending. Put the biggest sellers at the top of the chart.

Using the Go Sample Module.

I have created a simple bar graph with Year and Quantity.

I have set the sort on the Quantity to be descending.

And yet the chart isn't sorted.

I haven't set sort order on the Year in the chart, it is still on Auto.

Within the Data Module the Year has been set to sort descending.

It seems that if a data item is sorted in a Data Module the dashboard author isn't able to sort any visualisation that uses that data item to sort by a different item. Surely, that can't be right. Specific sort orders set on a dashboard chart should take precedence over anything set in the DM.

I am on 11.2.4. Is this still like this in 12?

Or am I making an obvious mistake and I can easily sort this chart how I like?
