  • 1.  SMTP Error "SendAsDenied" when Scheduling Reports from Maximo

    I am encountering an issue with email notifications sent from BIRT reports in my Maximo system. Below is the error from the logs:

Valid Unsent addresses: user@domain.com com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 554 5.2.252 SendAsDenied; system.account@domain.com not allowed to send as user@domain.com; STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message...

    From what I can tell, Maximo is using the logged-in user's email address as the sender, but the SMTP account configured in Maximo does not have permission to "Send As" that user in Exchange.

    Has anyone configured Maximo or Exchange to resolve this?


    Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Sarath,

    I have used a solution using an AutoScript to substitute/replace the the email account to align with the SMTP user in Maximo System Properties. I won't take credit as this was created some time ago by A3J and documented in his blog posts https://a3jgroup.com/maximo-email-with-office-365/.
