  • 1.  Shift breaks not being applied

    Posted 12/13/21 08:47 PM

    Hi All,

    I have a Shift (8 hours) defined with 1 hour break in between, and has applied this to a Calendar.
    The total available hours shown on Graphical Scheduling application and in GRV is still 8 hours.
    Shouldn't this come down to 7 hours?

    Hi LLunuthara

    for Assignment Manager, Graphical Work Week and Graphical Resource View applications the work hours in calendar shift will be applied.  If you change your work hours on the shift to 7 hours that will solve the issues.  The other scheduler apps will use the shift end time minus start time, breaks and shift work hours are ignored.

    @Lori Pilgrim  Thanks for that.
    So if I understand it correctly, we are saying that the shift break times are not automatically subtracted from the total work hours on that shift,
    and we will need to modify the work hours instead to reflect the shift break time.

    @Tom M True, I did a search and there is not currently an idea submitted around how calendar/shifts and calendar breaks work.  Would be nice if you created one on the Idea's site - https://ideas.ibm.com/?interaction=raised
