    Hi all,

    First time, long time...(jk)

How can I search this discussion group to see if someone has already asked my question? I wasn't able to figure that out.

Good question! I just grouped the Optim community emails in my outlook and used the full text search there. It would be nice if we could search the thread contents in the online community, assuming that it is possible?

    Hi Glenn,

Great question! If you go to the main UG&I Community page, there is a search bar just below the fold that will give you the ability to search through past discussion threads. Just click the "home" button right below the IBM 8-bar logo at the top of this page, and you'll find the search bar below the images.

I'll check back with the site team to see if there's any plans to add searching within groups - for now it's UG&I Community wide and not just Optim.

    Thanks!
    Katie

Thanks for the tip. That works.

I went to the UG&I page and searched for: optim varchar nvarchar
    I got 204 results.

FYI, I've figured out another way to do it. In a Google search you can refine a search to a specific domain with "site:".

The UG&I Optim page is: http://community.ibm.com/community/user/unified-governance-integration/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=3445

In a Google search box I entered:

    site:community.ibm.com/community/user/unified-governance-integration/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=3445 varchar nvarchar

    I got 1 result.

I hope this helps until there's a more refined UG&I Optim search box.

Bringing this back months later, we now have a search bar!

Please let me know if there's any comments about searching the group - if there's still difficulty or you're not finding things you're searching for, admins can add tags to the different posts which can make it easier but there will be testing to find the best tagging structure.

    best,
    Katie
