    Hello,
I don't quite understand how to use this application to assign Work Orders (WO).
Why can't I see all my WOs for a given date?
Is it related to each technician's skill level?

Also, when I assign a WO to someone, it sometimes turns red and sometimes green.
Does that mean I assigned it to the wrong person?

I'd like to assign my WOs based on skill levels rather than job roles.
How can I make sure the system considers skill levels instead of other parameters?
That way, I could assign all my WOs according to technicians' skills and easily visualize all WOs , whether they are assigned or not.

    Thank you

    Hi Saad,

I will try to answer your questions.

First of all, the Graphical assignment application shows all the assignments of the selected Work Orders, you select work orders in the first tab under Work Queries.
On the left of the Assignment view you see the Labor you have selected in the first tab under Restrict Resource Availability.
So you assign the assignment records to the Labor records.

Labor is ordered by Craft. If you select an assignment then all the labor records that can execute the work by skill-level are turned blue. There is one dark blue record that has the best match based on craft/skill-level.

If you assign a assignment to a labor and it turns green it indicates that the work and labor match. If it turns red it does not meet the requirements of the work. For example the duration of the task is greater than the available hours of the Labor.

I hope my short answers will help you a bit within this application.

    Hello

    Thank you for answer,

When I assign a work order to a labor resource in the Graphical Work Week within the Scheduler application, how can the assigned labor be notified about the work I assigned to them? They don't seem to receive any notification in their menu, so how can they be informed?

    Thank you.

For the Labor (User) to be notified of the assignment, there are many methods available. The simplest is for the User to re-sync on their mobile device (assuming they are using the MAF applications) and now that they are Assigned to work, the work order will appear on their list... assuming the work order is APPR. Beyond that, you will need to configure Push Notifications or perhaps Escalations for the User to get messages on their mobile apps, or emails. If they are using the traditional (browser) applications/StartCenters, then they can have a query that finds their assignments (work orders) and lists them. Hope this helps and finds you well.

    Hi Saad,

John is correct with the 'handsfree' options

There is one more thing that is available within the Graphical Work Week application to notify people.  In the resource section, if you right-click on the labor you get the open "Export to Calendar"

You can then choose to email the selected Labor or download and then send that to them.

Thank you very much for your response. I really appreciate it.

One last question: I don't understand why I'm getting this error message when I try to start the work. I checked all the information, and everything is different from zero.

You will need to dig into the logs... there are some on the mobile device as well... to see what the offending field/attribute is.

    Thank you for return.

In Graphical Work Week, in the labor availability view, I often see technicians with 0 hours available (they are allocated at 100%)

For some technicians, I see 5 hours instead of 8 hours, and for the same technician, I see 5 hours this week and 0 hours next week, without any obvious change.

All technicians are assigned to a crew, the calendar is correctly configured, and each crew works 8 hours per day.

I cannot understand which configuration impacts labor availability in GWW, to get 8 available hours per day per technician.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi Saad,

The 'lack' of work orders. Interesting.  On the Schedule tab, you have defined the scope of work orders and the timeframe that should be used to select the work orders.  The result is displayed on the Work View.  So, my question "why do you think that there are work orders missing?"

On the Assignment View, it is only shown then information from those work order where there exists an assignment.  The assignment either comes from the WPLABOR or you manually inserting an assignment which is normally going to be the craft and skill level (if present).  Work order are not shown on this tab.

As Stefan, has mentioned, the colours reflect a number of things from Green where all is okay, Amber where you have a partial match, to Red where you should look at the match as there is lots wrong.  NB: Maximo won't stop you proceeding.

It really helps as well to run the schedule through the Scheduler Data Manager app that checks for data integrity before getting too time invested in the schedule. Hidden under Administration - Scheduler Administration, this apps points out any data issues with the work orders, calendars, labor, etc. MAS Manage 9.1 has some new checks it performs.

It seems using the Scheduler application can be easier if you focus on the Graphical Work Week view. This view shows all work orders and the available labor on your website. It helps assign tasks based on skill level so the right person gets the right work. You can check the colors to see if a work order matches the labor hours. Notifications can be set up so people know their assignments. This way the website makes managing work orders simple and clear.
