Hi,
The key to a rolling schedule is the Start Date and End Date fields and Restrict Work to Dates checkbox on the Schedule tab. Refresh does not update the Start and End Date fields so eventually your 4 week schedule will be out of date. Roll Project will update the Start Date and End Date fields. You can either Roll manually (e.g. every Monday) or set the cron task up to roll the project on a frequency, e.g. once a week.
You should refresh your project often. There is a checkbox to refresh every time you open Graphical View. If new work meets the criteria on the schedule and within the Start and End Date, then it will be included.

Subject: Rolling vs Refresh Schedule
Hi,
I have a 4-week work schedule starting on a Monday with Start Dates and End Dates defined and 'Restrict Work to Dates' ticked on.
Now would there be a difference if every Monday of the schedule, I go and manually run 'Refresh Schedule' as opposed to running 'Roll Project'?
Thanks,
