Hi all,

We are using Cognos Analytics 11.0.13 and we have some users under "Analytics Users" roles, who can edit reports.

However, we want them to not available to edit reports in a certain folder, how can we achieve this?

We tried edit the permissions of the folder as "Analytics Users - Run" and change the capabilities of the folder by denying the rights of Report Studio, but not working.

Does anybody know how to achieve this?

Hi Learner,

Sky is the limit with authorization within Cognos (Analytics), you can do everything you want.

You can disable the write rights on a folder, so people can't save objects in that folder.
or 
We still have a 'Consumer' Role implemented for users.

Consumers are people who can run reports/dashboards build by other people, but aren't able to create / edit objects by themselves.
So they aren't able to edit objects in the Team Folder.
You can let them to be able to upload own data and build dashboards within the Personal Folder if you want.
