According to http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=hpc1vios568c20d2 that "Unable to connect to DB" is fixed in 2.2.3.60. The Version of VIOS is 2.2.4.10. Need to know how to peruse resolution. Perhaps it need further configuration or firmware update on managed system ?

Also found "LINK ERROR Recommended Actions PERFORM PROBLEM DETERMINATION PROCEDURES" in VIOS error logs but not sure if this related.

Hi,

The "Unable to connect to Database" error from the VIOS could happen for various reasons. We have to debug case by case basic.  Link errors especially for storage being used for the DB can cause the issue. Please ensure that you are at the latest VIOS service pack (2.2.4.30) and that all the hardware issues if present, are resolved. Also, make sure that network connectivity is good and the hostname resolves (both forward and reverse lookups). If the error persists, please open a PMR to debug. Thanks!

Not necessarily. It depends on what configuration errors are present. In this particular case, the error indicates an issue with DB access. Hence  it is better to check for any storage type errors especially for those disks where the DB is housed to ensure the access problems are not because of hardware.
