  • 1.  Resolving Error in Hierarchical cluster analysis

    Posted Thu May 22, 2025 04:02 PM

I am running a hierarchical cluster analysis in IBM SPSS 30 and I am getting this error: Error # 93 in column 14. Text: D0.425789770010385
An empty dataset's name has been used where a non-empty dataset's name, or the name or file handle of an existing SPSS Statistics system file, is required.
Execution of this command stops. How do I resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance for your support

    Hello,

I am encountering the same issue. Were you able to resolve it?

I noticed that the problem occurs when I apply Z-score standardization. When I run the analysis without this option, everything works smoothly. However, I do need to include Z-score standardization for my analyses.

    Thank you very much,

When standardizing, this procedure uses the PROXIMITIES procedure for that step, however in SPSS 30, there was a problem that prevented PROXIMITIES from running.

This was addressed in this interim fix

You can install this fix from the IBM Fix Central site
