    Mark,

    Is there pre-requirement to install RDB v9.1.1.1 ?  Cobol Runtime z/OS and z/VSE ?

    Hsieh,

There are no COBOL Runtime pre-reqs for this fixpack.     There are fixes that were shipped out in Dec. 2015, but this was the last PTF to the runtimes.

    Hsieh,

The corrupted zip file has been corrected.   I downloaded the 3 images, unzipped them, and was able to apply it using Installation Manager.

I then was successful in opening up RBD.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Paoloc,

We have not seen this issue, but one thing to try before doing much more.   I found a very similar forum entry for RAD.  The solutions was this:

Have you tried using -clean when starting RAD? You can add this option to the file eclipse.ini, or you can modify the RAD shortcut and add it there.

    and the response:

Worked like a charm!! I went into the eclipse.ini file and put "-clean" as the first line, as you suggested and RAD started perfectly.

So, you might want to try the same thing for RBD in its shortcut or eclipse.ini

I also found a reference to an eclipse option named -clearPersistedState that might help.  This can also be done on the shortcut or the eclipse.ini

    Let us know what happens.

    Paoloc,

Did you get any external symptoms?   For example, did it crash trying to start?  Did it crash doing something else?  Did it hang?

    take care.

    Paoloc,

Another question.  How did you get the fixpack installed.  As Hsieh noted, one of the downloaded zip files was corrupt?  Did you just access the web based service repository in Installation Manager?

    thanks.

    Hello Mark,

this was unexpected but really welcome news. If I have understood correctly, RBD 9.1.* will still support JSF development, even if deprecated. This new release will enable us to upgrade to Windows 10 and continue supporting our JSF solution.

    Tuukka,

Thanks for the input.   You are correct that RBD 9.1.1.x supports JSF development/deployment.   At this time, the earliest it will go out of support is Sept. 2019, so you can use that release for development.

    take care.

Good news!!.   Thanks for letting us know.

Did just the -clean work..or did you also have to use the -clearPersistedState

    thanks.
