I am installing DB2 v11.5.9 - Purescale on AIX, in the last step for creating a instance i encountered a error as below
Validating "/etc/hosts" ...
DBT3616E The db2prereqcheck utility found that the /etc/hosts file does not match the expected format:
LINE 57: IPaddress hop10hmc_BMC
LINE 58: IPaddress hop10hmc_BMC...
LINE 63: IPaddress hop10fs5300_...
LINE 64: IPaddress hop10fs5300_...
Ensure that each entry in the /etc/hosts file begins with a valid IP address, followed by a valid full hostname and
matching short alias for standard IPv4 addresses, or any number of valid hostnames for loopback and IPv6 addresses.
ERROR : Requirement not matched.
as mentioned in the error , the environment is having only <IP_Address> <short_name>
on checking with the AIX team , they mentioned that they are not having <fully_qualified_name> in the whole environment.
since it is not qualified we are not able to progress in the instance creation, is there a solution for this issue.
please help me on this matter.
With regards,
Rebin.
