Hi,

new drops of the DB2 beta code are provided quite frequently - which is good - but this also requires a lot of ramp up time each time.

I would suggest to provide pre-installed VMWare images (i.e. Linux) to download which would reduce this ramp up time a lot and would enable me (us) to test more drops and spend more time testing than installing.

We had that some time in the past and I think this would be a good additional option.

This could also be used to provide the up-to-date Data Studio code for a combined test.

I understand the comment on VMWare images, but we're not providing that format in this program.

I do have have it on my list of customer asks for future, which will be reviewed as part of a retrospective.

For me, installing new code with deprecated system command db2_install is fairly straight forward and quick, even on my laptop.

So is the MIGRATE DATABASE CLP Command.

By the way, why is the db2_install command deprecated ? Would it be possible to garantee its support in future releases ?
