Welcome to Product Potpourri Episode 3!

Over the past few months, we've gotten more great questions from our students during our Instructor lead classes.  Here are the latest four, but if you're interested in having a question answered from your classes let us know in the reply section below!

• Why isn't my =if formula not working? I copied it letter for letter!
  • In this case, the column the student was trying to refer to in the formula was Salary/Hourly, but it had been entered as salary/hourly. In Apptio we require not only the spelling to be exact but the capitalization as well.  The Apptio applications won't recognize a column header unless it matches exactly.   
• Can you change the permissions for a report after you've created it?
  • To change the permissions on your reports after they're created go into TBM Studio and check out your report.  Then select the report tab to navigate to the Permissions button.  This will open a pop-up that will allow you to change your permissions to Everyone, Just You, or By Role. 
• Can you make a chart into a drill report?
  • In report edit mode, switch the chart to a table, turn the drill feature on for the needed column, then change it back from the table to chart. You can now drill into the chosen column on your chart. 
  • Please Note: With the launch of Self Service Reporting (SSR) for Apptio these instructions will change.  For instructions using the new UI please follow this link, Using Drills in a Report
• Can I use Position and Size to change the size of multiple report components at once?
  • In Apptio R12 you can only use Position and Size to change a single report component at a time.
