  • 1.  Process & convert an SR to a WO on phone

    On my phone, using a cellular connection, I want to do the following with an existing SR:

    1. Look at the SR
    2. Drive to the site
    3. Investigate the issue
    4. Fill in SR fields such as classification and asset/location (via a map/GPS)
    5. Then click a button to create a WO from the SR

    How can I do this using Maximo on my phone—without using Maximo Desktop?

    This seems like a pretty reasonable use case, yet as far as I know, Anywhere 7.6.4 is not designed to handle this scenario.

    Since you are using Maximo 7.6, Everyplace is already included. So, you should be able to open the Service Desk application on your phone now, with no other effort. It will be clunky and you will need pinch & zoom, and you will want to consider configuring a clone (sorry, duplicate is the term now) application for a mobile footprint. You can add an action button to the toolbar since you won't have side navigation; an icon is attached as an example, but you will want to get it from your install to match your version, or just build your own.

    Hi,

    The SR Work Centre should give you such functionality, but you will need to be on-line via Mobile data or WiFi.
