  • 1.  problems with krukal wallis post hoc

    Posted 07/29/20 05:55 PM

I can perform kruskal wallis post hoc test to evaluate the difference in means in relation to some categorical variables but in relation to others in I cannot. "pairwise comparations" does not appear in the out put. It doesn't seem to be a problem with my variables as they are all nominal or ordinal categorical. Please, help me! What am I doing wrong? : (

    hi, Jon!

I used this procedure: Select: Analyze  Nonparametric Tests  Independent samples In the Fields tab, I moved the dependent variable to the ‘Test Field’ box and the grouping factor to the ‘Groups’ box.

In the Settings tab , I choosed to customise the tests and then selected the Kruskal-Wallis test. I left the multiple comparisons as ‘All pairwise’ and ‘Run’.

It worked with some variables but not all of them : (

thank you for helping me !!!!!!!!

You won't get that output unless there are more than two groups. You also need the Test Fields variables to have a scale measurement level.

I have 3 or more groups in some categorical variables. And the test field is a escale. All of these requirements are being met. I see no explanation. If I could share the database with you probably you could identify the problem. thank your for trying to help me : )

You can send a sav file to me at jkpeckSupport Member, and I will take a look. Tell me which variables are not providing the test option.

Jon, I was able to identify the problem. It was in the "field filter" window on the left side of the screen. The categorical variable must be selected on this side of the screen. only in this way the output appears analyzing pairwise. Thank you for helping me... I love spss but it makes me nervous sometimes...hahahahaha

sorry for my english as I am Brazilian.
