    I followed some documentation on how to configure the system to get it running but nothing seems to work.

    If using pre-compiled binaries from the samba site, I can either do an 'lsuser -R WINBIND <user>' or a 'wbinfo -g'. But I cannot authenticate any user accessing any share or logging on.

    My smb.conf file is as minimal as possible. It just contains things like the workgroup or the password server.

    Does anyone have any idea? Or already solved a problem like this one?

    Help would be appreciated.

    In the meanwhile I got Samba 3.0.24 running on my machine.
    What I still could not resolve is that no user can get authenticated against with winbind against the pdc.

    When doing a 'su - <user>', I get the following error message:
    Could not set process credentials

    Any idea?
