    From my experience:
    Update your HMC software and system firmware - this fixes 90% of such problems.
    If it starts reading the CDROM and then fails - it might be a problem with the CDRom like scratches or its back level.

    what version of you OS cd? My question is not only major verions like 5.2,5.3
    you can see os cdrom media's date version on it.
