In the new physical location we can connect to the Service Processor via ASMI and a web browser. We can power up AIX which then proceeds to boot AIX. We have a graphical console attached to the box. The system seem to correctly boot AIX and we can reach the desktop with the big "AIXL" logo at the middle of the screen and a small console window displaying the boot status. All disk partitions are mounted correctly and then all tcpip daemons are also started and it then attempts to start NFS services and starts up "biod" service and then everything freezes. No further activity at all and the system can not be accessed remoteley, even not responding to ping. There are 2 network cables going into the system, one to one of the HMC ports and the other to one of the ethernet ports. Can anyone please advise what we need to successfully boot the system ?

You might want to bring the server up in maintenance mode and temporarily remove the NFS mounts. Then reboot normally and fix the network problems. When you get to where you can do the NFS mounts by hand, then restore the automatic mounts and reboot. Hopefully you'll be all set.

There's one other pathological possibility. Sometimes a portion of the network doesn't initialize until after the NFS mounts complete. I used to see this with the SP switch. In that case you'll have to remove the automatic NFS mounts and then mount them later with a script.

Thanks for your reply. It turns out that the network cable was faulty. Once it is replaced AIX booted correctly.
