Today we running Oracle databases on a couple p7-servers. We will upgrade to Oracle Enterprise, but that will bring a huge cost. We know evaluate sparc T5(half license cost/core) and Power8 servers. Do anyone has experience of both servers? I think Power8 is more powerful, better virtualization(dynamic shared cpu pool) and therefore we probably don't need as much cores as for the Sparc option.

What's your optionion?
