    After discussion with IBM Support Analyst - TS004908569, I've been given directions by our IBM contact Trevor Comeau to reach out to CA Forums - managed by Jason Tavoularis.

    The question is, as portlets are not officially supported in CA11.1.x, but to all appearances have not been removed, for the sake of longevity

     We'd like to know if portlets will still available in CA 11.2 and/or the foreseeable future.

    Why/Explanation: An application under our support has a requirement for which the easiest method to complete is portlets, and we've been able to find a way to create new portlets via portaldisable.cc + one additional internet post which adds an additional Boolean setting to the Content Manager. 
     In this way the development team will be able to get their requirements met via a portlet; however, after talks with IBM support analyst on the former mentioned case, portlets are not officially supported in CA 11.x, but have not been removed.

    If the decision is to leave this back-way access to portlets for CA 11.x and the foreseeable future versions then developers will be able to continue without fear of losing their work as soon as the next CA version comes out.

    Hi Sean, 

    Though it is true that Portals are marked for deprecation since 11.0, IBM never specified any version from when they will be completely removed. They will usually give enough notice in case they are completely removing them. They have in fact enabled viewing portal tabs within glass UI in one of the 11.0 versions. BUT they do not suggest building anything new using these legacy tools that are lined up for deprecation and they do not spend anything on enhancing these tools. 

    I am sure @Jason Tavoularis can provide more details.

    As per IBM, there is no firm date when it is going away (same as Query Studio and Analysis Studio) and they are looking into replicating the features 'maybe' in Dashboard but it is not on their priority list of 'to-be--worked' on.
