Policy Based High Availability issues

    Hello everyone.

    We have recently installed two FS7300's. We are trying to configure PBHA but get stuck when configuring the partnership. The 'Use policy based replication' checkbox is greyed out. I am not sure why that happened. 
    I have zoned the ports using the physical wwpn in a virtual fabric. I don't see any blocked ports in the 'Settings -> Network -> Fibre Channel Connectivity' GUI web page.
    Please advise. Thanks.

    Have you reviewed the IBM Redbooks publication "Ensuring Business Continuity: A Practical Guide to Policy-Based Replication and Policy-Based High Availability for IBM Storage Virtualize Systems". Chapter 4.1.2 covers the configuration steps.

    If the connection between two systems is not correct, it will warn you "No Fibre Channel candidates - The system does not detect any Fibre Channel candidates". What is the code level of these systems?

    I have a candidate. 

    What I mean is that in my case the check-box is greyed out, as if I've missed something. 

    This picture is an example, so you can see what I am trying to tell.

    Yes, I did, and I was able to do the partnership. But I did not know how to enable policy-based replication with the CLI, which is a prerequisite for PBHA.

    If you already have the partnership created, you can make it PBR by:

    chpartnership -pbrinuse yes <partnership id>

    Problem solved. It was a network problem. Routing and firewall problem. Once fixed, we were able to configure PBHA.

    Have you already configured a replication policy?

Go to Volume Group, there are the replication policies.

Another thing, did you configure the partnership after doing the zoning?

    Is it necessary to configure a replication policy before setting up the partnership?


    I can set up a partnership if I don't want to use the 'Policy based replication' checkbox, but this is not the case, I need to select this checkbox and I can't because it is greyed out.
