  • 1.  PAfE Universal Reports

    Posted Thu September 11, 2025 06:04 AM

    Hi

Has anyone else tried to access the new features that have been demo'd by Xavier recently? None of the new features like Add Formula, Apply formula or Add user row in universal report (spacers) appear.

I am an IBM cloud user and we have the latest versions of PAW & PA (11.8.02900.8) and PAfE (Version 2.0.106.6).

The add spacers option was supposedly released in May (104) but is still not in my PAfE

Is anyone else having similar issues? Am I missing something?

    Thanks

    Hi Douard,

This could be down to any number of issues:

    1) Are you looking at normal UR or Static? Looks like I am only seeing the option on the normal UR

    2) As I understand the features depend on all sorts of things i.e. Version of PAfE (mine is 2.1.12.2), PASS (looks like 2.0.104), PA (mine is 11.8.30 / 2.0.9.22), PAW (PAoC 2.0.106).

Try double-checking that all versions are recent and you are looking at a standard UR.

Would be good to have some kind of feature dependency matrix for these new features as I have been caught out before on these.

Yeah, that was my point. I am running TM1oC so I have the latest PAW, my PA server is the latest release from 2025-03 and I have downloaded the latest PAfE from Cloud, version 2.0.106.6 (latest) so I'm at a loss.

I was looking at UR not static by the way. I tested both.

Any IBMers who can shed some light?

    Hi Douard,

What is important in Cloud is the PASS version:

    Log into PAW
Click your name at the top righthand corner and click About IBM Planning Analytics
Now click Runtime versions on the About page to show the PASS version

You must be on PASS 90 or higher - 11.0.01090.73306

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=reports-prerequisites-universal

If everything looks ok, log a case with Support and we'll be happy to investigate.

    Hope this helps,

I had the same behavior. I was on PAFE 105 and the latest of everything else (server, PASS, and PAW) and spacers were not there.

I upgraded to PAFE 106 and I can now add spacers. The "What's New" doc says this is included starting in 104, but that's not the experience I had.

Thanks, just an update for completeness. It turns out that I did not have the latest PA (TM1) version. Jill correctly discovered I had an older one and have to upgrade you to 11.8.03000.9 / PA 2.0.9.22 or higher. I am in the process of having this implemented and it should resolve the issue.

Hi Douard, I'm glad you found the answer. Planning Analytics on cloud has PASS and the TM1 server bundled together, therefore a TM1 server upgrade is required to upgrade PASS.  Once the upgrade is completed, you will see the Universal features in PAfE and websheets.
For your information, we now also have a neat new feature that will provide you with the versions of PAW, PAFE, TM1 and PASS. You will find an new "Active Connection Information" under the "Help" option on the ribbon.

    Good Luck

Hi Xavier, the new "Active Connection Information" is definitely going to be useful in troubleshooting these kinds of issues.

On my setup, PAW and PASS are both running on RHEL - v2.1.13 for PAW and PASS were installed.
PAW is showing 2.0.106 here and PASS not available:

From the PAW side however I see this:

Just thought I would point out that there are some inconsistencies with the results returned.

Thanks George, we will look into this.

Edit: I looked into this, in order to make the PASS version available you will need to turn the PAW view exchange feature ON.
