  • 1.  P570 Drawer Failure

    How can IBM say "We built you the box but we'll get it fixed when we get a chance unless you are paying us to maintain it!" What if I buy a new server, make it into production within a couple of months, and then it goes dead? No! That's not right!!!

Warranty includes hardware support; the software license includes support for the 1st year too. When you say "Sev1", this is typically a software severity term. The hardware base warranty is typically a 9-5 5days a week offering; you can upgrade it to a 24hrsx7days a week for a fee if you wish.

    I work for IBM; based on what you have written here (server, less than a year, hardware crash), you should be able to get support. Depending on your warranty choice, it may not be same day.     I agree with user nh4aix; I've never had an issue with getting immediate hardware support on warranty items over the phone, but if you do not upgrade the at time of purchase to 24X7, they will send a field engineer M-F between 9-5, but you should still get phone support 24X7.
