    $ oslevel
    5.1.0.0
    $ oslevel -r
    5100-09
    $ instfix -i | grep ML
    All filesets for 5.1.0.0_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-01_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-02_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-03_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-04_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-05_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-06_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-07_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-08_AIX_ML were found.
    All filesets for 5100-09_AIX_ML were found.
    $

    If the last command produces output like "Not all filesets for 5100-0X_AIX_ML were found.", you can find out what's missing with the following command:

    $ instfix -ciqk 5100-0X_AIX_ML | grep ":-:"

    Hope this helps!

    I see what you're getting at and it's all fine and good if you know which ML/TL that applies to. I don't off the top of my head. Is there a way to map that to the TL level on the system? In other words, I now know the bos.mp file is at level 5.2.0.95, but does that mean we're at 5200-09? Better yet, is there a way to map that to the specific SP level, say to 5200-09-05 or 5200-09-06?

    (I love discussions like this - I learn so much that I don't get out of the manuals!)

    (I love discussions like this - I learn so much that I don't get out of the manuals!)Sure,
    5.2.0.9.5 maps to 5200-09-05 and means that we are at 5200-09 with SP 5
    5.2.0.9.6 maps to 5200-09-06
    5.1.0.0 maps to 5100-00-00

    I believe that the V.R.M.F format (e.g., 5.2.0.9.5) returned by lslpp correlates to the VR-M-F format (e.g., 5200-09-05), returned by oslevel.
    V = Version, R = Release, M = Modification, and F = Fix
